We're in Zambia

We made it to Lusaka, Zambia bright and early (6:00 am) on Saturday morning with really very little sleep.  Did watch a few movie's though and met some interesting folks.  We arrived with all of our 6 pieces of luggage, 2 carry ons and our purse/backpack (really another carry on if you ask me!).  It was absolutely seeing the kids and hugging them.  Lilly came right to me and that was a thrill.  She is so beautiful and a wonderful little one.  Their home is in a 5 house compound with Family Legacy staff filling each home.  It is so lovely and quite modern.  Amanda has already purchased some things to make their house their home and we plan to do a project, a rag rug, for Lilly's play area.  Did I mention how adorable that little girl is?!

When we arrived, Amanda made us breakfast and then went down the road to "the Saturday Market" I think it's called.  It's once a month, ( just like Canton!!!) and you can get just about anything you need and some you really don't need.  We were not hardly inside the door before they were introducing us to friends.  Lots of them were staff members but others they've met at church or through the market.  It didn't surprise me but still blessed my heart that they are becoming part of this community.

Kevin and Taylor left on Sunday morning to go fishing and on a safari (resort style) and figure they must be having a good time.  We've not heard from them yet.  Hopefully we'll have some pics to post next time.  Amanda, Lilly and I went to their church and I got to meet more of their friends.  Taylor actually sings with the praise team every other week I think.  He loves that.

In their compound you can literally talk to your neighbors from your window to their's.  Not because they are so close, but because of all the concrete.  The sound bounces around.  Or someone will just walk over and start talking to you at the window.  It's really quite funny but convenient!  The other family living here are the Hueys and their 4 kids.  Erin is such a blessing to Amanda and that has blessed me.  They cook with each other, do projects together, grocery shop together and Erin takes and shows her the best places to shop. She is a perfect friend!  There is a new family praying seriously about  moving here and will come this week to evaluate.  Please pray with us about that.

I wanted to give you our schedule so you might be praying for those things as they come up:

Tuesday, June 3 - Kevin & Taylor return home, travel safety
Thursday, June 5 - we begin moving things into Blessing House
Friday afternoon, June 6 - Blessing House will be dedicated and it's new residents will move in
Saturday, June 7 - new CampLIFE team arrives and we begin our planning for the week
Sunday, June 8 - Church at Tree of Life village with the kids and we meet our Zambian partners
Monday, June 9 - CampLIFE begins

It is so wonderful to be here.  It's familiar and so cool, and our family is here.  Thank you again for your  prayers and support.
