The ladies from our Sunday school class have started enjoying an annual DayTreat each Spring. This year we went to the Clifford's home in Cedar Hills and had a lovely time. In preparation, we read "When God Winks at You" and Holly Plank led us in discussions and also emphasized the many opportunities we have to see "God Winks" throughout our days. She also shared some of the many winks she's had in her life as a "missionary kid". It was a wonderful day and thanks to Susan for offering her home, to Grace for organizing and planning, and to Holly for leading us out.

Christmas 2011
Christmas time was very special with sweet Baby Lilly joining us. Mama and Papa joined us again this year and loved being right in the middle of everything. Tanner had no trouble jumping right into the opening of gifts either. We began our Christmas time with the Christmas story read out of Lilly's little Bible. Lilly got her 1st baby doll and Tanner got a "play ground". Lindsay got a new microwave, Chris got all the clothes he could possibly want from Duluth, Taylor & Amanda got an IPad and mom got a new Bose stereo system. Love it!! It was a wonderful day to celebrate the birth of our Savior.
A Smith Tradition, Christmas Cookies
It is a tradition at our house that we bake and decorate Christmas cookies on Christmas Eve so we figured it was time for Tanner to join in the fun. Back when the kids were little and we usually traveled on Christmas Day, we often ate all of the cookies before we got to our destination. Now a days, restaurants and gas stations are probably open on the holidays, but not so much 20 years ago. Tanner enjoyed decorating but quickly became more interested in eating them or the sprinkles instead!
Lilly is Dedicated
Lilly was dedicated at their church, The Door, on December 4th. All of Lilly's family was there to witness the beautiful ceremony.
Thanksgiving 2011
We had our typical Thanksgiving celebration and the usual food, but we really missed having Daddy and the Stephensons, BJ & Sandra, here. Having our 1st major holiday without Daddy was obviously sad and it gave us an opportunity to share some special moments about him. We also had the cranberry sauce out which was one of his favorite things and I think many had a little of it just to honor him.
